A WOMAN whose puppy was stolen by prospective buyers is appealing for its safe return.
Pamela Cooper, was in the process of selling seven-week-old bichon frise puppy Pepe, when the couple looking at purchasing it stole it from a playpen and quickly left her Latchford home.
She said: "It is not the money. I send the dogs off with a bag of toys and all the necessary documents. I am really worried about the puppy. I just want people to know that this happens."
The couple, who said they were from St Helens, went to her home on Friday night to look at the pup.
They looked at the pup in the playpen before asking to see its mother. As Mrs Cooper went to fetch her, she thinks the man took the puppy before escaping through the front door.
A police spokesman confirmed that inquires into the incident are ongoing.
