STUDENTS at a Crewe martial arts club have been under pressure from a very special guest.
Seventh Degree Black Belt Grand Master Paul Bowman arrived in town to conduct a four-hour seminar in the fascinating art of Kyusho Jitsu.
Accepting an invitation from the Total Urban Combat Concepts club, Master Bowman put everyone through their paces before captivating students with his display of pressure point fighting.
Urban Combat instructor Chris Byrne said it was a day to remember at the Camm Street dojo.
"It was a great day's training and it was an honour to host the event for the first time in Crewe," he explained.
"Grand Master Paul Bowman has over 40 years in martial arts and is one of the highest graded instructors in Kyusho Jitsu in the whole of Europe.
"All of the students had many questions answered and Master Bowman certainly showed us some secrets of this fascinating art, which has been lost from many martial arts today.
"The highlight for me was watching Master Bowman, who is only 5ft 3in and 12 stone, controlling another man who was over 6ft 4in and 16 stone, with a simple pressure point technique to the arm. A sight not easily forgotten.
"Everybody had a great day and as it was an open seminar it was open to many other clubs.
"We are planning another in the New Year."
Total Urban Combat Concepts train at the Camm Street Centre with Adults (aged 16+) on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm till 9.30pm.
Juniors train on Sunday mornings, from 10.30am till 12pm.
