Under 15s miss out on polo title
WARRINGTON'S senior water polo team defeated Stretford 11-9 in the Bolton League.
The under 16s won 18-8 at Chester in the first leg of the Cheshire Cup Final on Friday, with the second leg due to be played at the end of next month, while the under 14s thrashed Tyldesley 18-3 on Saturday in a friendly ahead of the Manchester Winter League season.
The under 15s missed out on the Manchester League title after being beaten 16-12 by rivals Radcliffe in the championship decider.
Anyone interested in taking up water polo is welcome to attend training at Great Sankey Leisure Centre on Wednesdays at 9pm or on Saturdays at 6.15pm.
Hooray Hannah
PADGATE Trampolining Club member Hannah Thompson finished 17th in the group one category at the Aerodynamic Open in Nantwich.
She went one better than head coach Ann Bishop-Rowe, who finished 18th in the group two category.
The club train at Padgate Recreation Centre on Wednesdays with sessions at 4pm and 5pm for under 16s and at 7pm for adults.

World gold medal
FORMER Winwick Primary School pupil Jean Ashley has grabbed a gold medal at the World Quadathlon Championships in the Czech Republic.
Ashley, ne Meeks, lived in Winwick in her younger days and secured victory in the event, which combines the disciplines of swimming, canoeing, cycling and running.
Greatest hunt
TEAMS from Warrington can take part in the hunt to find the greatest grass roots five-a-side soccer team when the Nike Pro Challenge 2005 comes to the town on October 16.
The top team from each of 32 heats will qualify for the national final to be held in Manchester on November 6.

Taylor lights up
THE Red Line Recruitment Padgate Open Floodlit Bowls competition was won by King and Queen's John Taylor.
He defeated fellow clubmate Ross Wightman 21-14 in the final.
Another King and Queen crack shot, Larry Wells, was defeated in the semi finals, along with Grange's Peter Rowles.
The quarter finalists were Mike Spencer, of Padgate; Mike Warburton, of Farmers Arms; Paul Bailey, of Wolverhampton; and Chris Ashton, of King and Queen.
Seek new blood
WOOLSTON Rovers under 10s soccer team are looking for new talent to add to their playing squad.
Any child born between September 1, 1995, and August 31, 1996, is welcome to attend training at Bennett's Recreation Ground, Padgate, on Thursdays between 6.15pm and 7.30pm and ask for Phil.
