DOG fouling is a health hazard, say parish councillors in Winwick who are urging pet owners to clean up the mess.
It is a particular problem on Myddleton Lane recreation ground, which is used by senior and junior football teams, as well as children on the play area.
Clr John Gordon, parish council chairman, said: "The vast majority of dog owners are responsible but if you do not clean up when your dog fouls you are leaving a potential health risk behind, not to mention the mess caused to those who may step in it inadvertently."
