WARRINGTON Town defender Gary Randles has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing an Achilles tendon in their 0-0 draw with Rossendale on Tuesday.
Randles was taken to hospital after the game and underwent an operation yesterday, Wednesday, leaving Town boss Glenn Walker to scour the market for a replacement.
Town, who face Brigg at Cantilever Park on Saturday, kick-off 2pm, before travelling to Colwyn Bay on Tuesday, paid for missed chances in their home clash with Rossendale.
It has been a common theme recently for Walker, who although happy with performances believes a more clinical approach could see them challenging for the play-offs.
Randles saw his shot saved in the first half and Steve Latham fired wide in the closing stages.
Town: Ian Lowe, Dougie Pitts, Chris Fitzsimmons, Michael Ellison, Gary Randles (Paul McNally), Adrian Reilly, Dave Tickle (Craig Heenighan), Steve Latham, James Featherstone, Graeme Mitchell (Phil Howard), Phil Mitchell.
Craig Heenighan scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to earn Town a 1-1 draw at Belper on Saturday.
Walker's men were facing defeat against the lowly Derbyshire outfit after Ian Lowe' s sixth-minute save only allowed Asa Ingall to put Belper ahead.
Town, who were without Danny Salt with a back injury, went close when Dave Tickle's shot was saved.
Both sides then hit the woodwork before the break, with Phil Mitchell unlucky not to score with a header before missing a good chance to equalise after half time.
But the introduction of Heenighan from the bench made the difference as the youngster slammed home James Featherstone's cross to grab his first goal for Town at the death.
