PENKETH Parish Council clerk Janice Bowen is moving on after two years in the job.
She is moving to Portugal after setting up a janitorial supplies business in her native South Wales with her son.
Mrs Bowen, from Greystone Road, Penketh, said: "I have enjoyed everything about the job.
"I think I've liked being part of the community and helping the community."
She said people likely to take up the cleark's post need to be financially aware, and need to work a flexible 14-hour a week from home, at weekends, and at council meetings.
"I would recommend it to people," added Mrs Bowen.
"You can make a difference to the community.
"For example the work I enjoyed most was dealing with the new children's park in Greystone Road and getting grants to improvements to the community centre and swimming pool in Honiton Square."
