JOHN Clarke's King and Queen bowls team were double winners on Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association's finals day.
They defeated K Forster's Grange team to lift the 31-up Pairs trophy and then ended the hopes of J Welsby's Grange team in the final of the Harry Cross Cup at Pierpoints on Saturday.
It completed a remarkable season for King and Queen, who won the Monday and Friday leagues' Section A titles as well as lifting the Challenge Cup and Silcock Cup honours earlier in the campaign.
Eight other finals were settled on the day, including three in the youth section.
Matthew Gatley beat Michael Yule 21-16 in the Cadets Final and Daniel Roberts won by the same score against Michael Roberts in the Junior Final, while Danny Watson came out on top in the Youth Final with a 21-17 defeat of Chris Bradshaw.
St Oswalds A lost 74-72 to British Rail in the Warwick Lowe Trophy but there was better news for Oswalds' crack shot Stuart Goodwin in the Cunningham Cup final as he tasted 21-13 glory against Alford Hall's Bernard Carroll.
The Presidents Cup title went to M Burrows, of Alford Hall, thanks to his 21-18 victory against Bank Quay's P Hampson.
Grange B edged out Brooklands A 21-19 in the Chadwick Pairs Trophy.
The Player of the Year Final was a non-event with Rylands' K Ashton being handed a walkover win against St Oswalds' Kevin Wainwright.
