YOUNG people who drop in to the World of Glass to find out more about council services will have the chance to win an iPod.
Teenagers between the age of 14 and 19 are invited to have an informal chat with councillors and council staff on Tuesday, October 18, during national Local Democracy Week.
Youngsters who call in to the Chalon Way East centre between 4pm and 8pm will be provided with information about St Helens Council including the range of activities provided by the Youth Service, the work of Democratic Services and how the local authority engages with young people and takes their views into account when making its decisions.
There will also be the chance to join in music and art and craft workshops, plus the iPod prize draw.
During the week St Helens Youth Council will be holding its third annual debate at St Helens Town Hall.
Council leader Marie Rimmer said: "We want more young people to take an interest in local democracy and to realise that they can make a difference by getting involved."
