MORE missile attacks by stone-hurling yobs have been launched on drivers in Upton Rocks but police say patrols on the plush estate are working.

Two incidents have been reported since last week's story in the World but neighbourhood teams have seen fewer gangs gathering in known troubles spots already.

"Due to the fact we have more officers patrolling the area on evenings and thanks to the story in the paper, only two further incidents have been reported," said Ins Neil Foxall of Widnes NPU. "The gangs seem to have moved on."

One World reader said her car was stoned in Upton Rocks recently and when she confronted the yobs more stones and bricks were hurled at her car.

Another has called for other, less-affluent areas of the town to receive the same level of high-profile policing granted to Upton Rocks.

Insp Foxall said his teams would target nuisance behaviour wherever it occurred and urged people to report such incidents.
