A MIDDLEWICH man will be floating on air after proving his worth on an arduous army course.
Private Luke Hardy has joined the parachute regiment in Colchester after completing a physically exhausting 26-week combat infantryman's course with more than flying colours.
The 26-year-old was presented with the prize of champion recruit in recognition of his excellent performance throughout the course, held at the Infantry Training Centre, Catterick.
He was presented with the award during his pass out parade, held on September 23.
He said: "I found training difficult, however I was soon able to pass all the tests and thoroughly enjoyed them."
