hit officers
A WINSFORD woman has been ordered to carry out 100 hours' community service after admitting assaulting two police officers.
Paula Carlin, 36, of Portman Place, lashed out and punched the pair as they attempted to arrest her husband for public disorder at an address on Berkerley Rise shortly before 1am on August 20 this year.
Karen Morgan-Reed, prosecuting, told magistrates at Northwich on Friday that Carlin had caused swelling and bruising to the right side of one officer's face and left the other with a bloody nose.
She added that Carlin had become abusive when the police arrived and began screaming at them when they approached her husband.
Defending, Chris Johnson said Carlin had been drunk and would cooperate fully with any sentence the magistrates felt appropriate.
Chairman of the bench Ruth Unsworth ordered Carlin to pay £30 compensation to each of the officers and £20 court costs in addition to her unpaid work in the community.
