A FRUSTRATED resident is calling on the borough council to spend money on improving the 'forgotten estate' of Winsford.
Mo Hallworth, of Esk Road, believes the area has been neglected by Vale Royal Borough Council with poorly maintained trees and footpaths as well as problems with flooding and anti-social behaviour.
She said: "It has become an absolute nightmare for us and nothing seems to be getting done about it.
"Every time it rains the grids are overflowing with raw sewage and it must be a nightmare for parents with kids who are walking through it.
"The trees are never cut back and the footpaths are dangerous.
"I have no idea how elderly people go on walking along Esk Road and with icy winter weather on the way it is an accident waiting to happen.
"All we ever seem to get are patch up jobs but what we really need is some money being spent here."
Mo, 50, also believes anti-social behaviour is on the rise with gangs of youths terrorising residents.
She said: "We have had a lot of problems round here and I don't see anything being done about it.
"It really is the forgotten estate of Winsford. The play area has just been built on Esk Road but I don't think that is going to solve the problems.
"I spend a lot of nights sleeping in my lounge because there is so much trouble going on outside."
Mo is now urging the borough council to make the Crook Lane and Esk Road area a priority.
She said: "All we ever seem to hear about is what great things are happening on the Grange estate and other areas.
"What about a bit of attention for people living round here because we are badly in need of it."
