TRADERS have been left 'in limbo' after rumours that Winsford Market is set to be sold were denied.
Rumours were circulating that market owner Modus was preparing to sell up and plunge the future of the facility into jeopardy.
But trader Dave Colclough said: "Modus has now said that it is not considering selling up for the foreseeable future.
"The problem is that we are not being kept informed so when you hear rumours you are going to believe them because you are not told anything else.
"The council has already agreed to spend more than £100,000 on the market but I think they are holding out to see what is happening with Modus."
Market traders are now calling on Modus to reassure them over the future of the market.
Dave said: "We need to know what is going on because these are our livelihoods and we don't want to hear things like this out of the blue.
"This is an asset for the town and we need to be assured of its future."
