A KINGSMEAD businessman has enjoyed a successful time in the world of cosmetics after taking advice from female members of his family.
Andrew Skipper set up Peak Nutrition in Registry Close 18 months ago to provide women with products unavailable in the UK.
Andrew, 36, decided to start the company after listening to the beauty care needs of his mother, wife and friends and then travelled to America to search for products he hoped would make a real differences to women's bodies.
While in America he discovered Avotone and decided to establish a business to sell the products.
He said: "We were all so impressed with the results that I quickly secured UK and EU rights to distribute these products. A website was developed to help sell them."
Peak Nutrition has been extremely successful in its first 18 months in business, with revenues set to reach £1.5million, and Andrew is hoping to expand in the future.
He said: "We are very happy with the way the business is progressing and we are very excited about the Avotone products as they not something the UK has experienced before.
"Many users say the wrinkle relaxant cream does the same job as botox which is something we are not used to seeing."
Peak Nutrition has already opened a call centre in Plymouth to cope with demand and employs many people who work from home.
Andrew is also looking for models to be the face of his company and promote his products around the country.
He said: "We are going to be looking for the UK face of Avotone who will be a mother and daughter team that we can use on materials and displays."
