Bollington Athletic 2
KNUTSFORD 1
KNUTSFORD lost their 100 percent away record in the Mid Cheshire League at Bollington's temporary home at Mary Dendy, Mobberley.
The 1-0 half-time deficit that Knutsford faced, due to a splendid goal on 28 minutes from Lee Martin, did not seem too harsh a position.
Within a minute of the restart though things were doubly worse for Knutsford as Bollington scored again.
Knutsford were rattled and could not get their passing game going as their shape became stretched and Bollington looked the better side.
Liam Goulding pulled a goal back for the Reds on 64 minutes with a typically clinical finish when put through one-on-one with Ward in Bollington's goal.
Knutsford never really threatened an equaliser and will need to put this performance out of their system if they are to retain their position at the top end of the table.
On Saturday Knutsford are in action at Manchester Road when they entertain Witton Albion Reserves, newly promoted this season.
The game, sponsored by D and P M Sheldon, is at the earlier kick off time of 2pm (due to the international fixtures.)
