ALL the good work the previous week at Stretford Victoria was undone at Manchester Road on Saturday.
An experienced and well-organised Wythenshawe Amateurs deservedly took all three points following the home side's second-half defensive collapse.
The story could have been so different if the Reds had turned their first-half dominance into goals but so many chances were squandered that it was almost inevitable that they would be punished at the other end.
The visitors were awarded a penalty as early as the eighth minute and Knutsford were immediately on the back foot. The goal spurred the home side into their best period of the game, dominating the remainder of the first-half.
Just before the interval, livewire Joel Igenoza pulled a goal back for the Reds, giving them what appeared to be a good platform from which to build.
But after the break it was Wythenshawe who took advantage of the home side's deficiencies and duly punished their defensive frailties. They scored three quick-fire goals to put the game beyond Knutsford in a poor second-half performance.
On Saturday, Knutsford A are away to champions Broadheath Central, kick off 2pm
