FUN-LOVING ladies determined to conquer cancer have taken on an exciting challenge - by becoming glam calendar girls!
They posed 'topless' behind cuddly toys, carrots, cabbages, hearts and flowers!
Incredibly, all but one of these Halton women has had surgery for breast cancer - and they hope their daredevil stunt will raise awareness and help support victims.
"We had a lot of fun," said retired nurse Brenda Meadows, of Widnes, who co-ordinated the calendar. "We began asking for volunteers and ended up with two for each month."
They're already planning next year's calendar - posing with men in uniform!
The vivacious women belong to Bosom Buddies, a breast cancer support group, set up by Widnes & Runcorn Cancer Support Centre.
They share one vision - living life to the full - holidaying all over the world and enjoying nights out at restaurants, theatres and shows.
The charity's founder Dee Graal said: "If you can beat cancer, you can do anything, life is precious."
The ladies say they loved every minute posing as pin-ups - feeling seductive in feminine dresses and sexy on the back of a motorbike! Gran Dorothy Woodward, diagnosed 11 years ago, said: "It started as a laugh but turned out to be very professional. I hope it will give a lot of people hope."
Sponsors have covered all the calendar's costs so every penny will be shared between the two cancer charities. The calendar costs £5, from Widnes & Runcorn Cancer Support Centre, 21-23 Alforde Street, Widnes, call 0151-423 5730.
