POLICE are on the hunt for a would-be thief who tried to enter a property but was deterred by its owners.
The attempted burglary happened at approximately 4.30am on Wednesday, August 31, at a home on Ashwood Avenue, Padgate.
The occupants were woken up when they heard someone knocking on the front door. They opened the front door and were confronted by a man.
The man is described as white, aged between 20 and 25-years-old and he wearing a dark hooded top. He had a local accent. A second male was not seen.
