CALLS have been pouring in following the launch of the Guardian's campaign for safety measures on the A530 Middlewich Road.
From traffic lights to safety cameras, residents have inundated the Guardian with suggestions to improve the road's safety record.
Michael Woodward, of Marshfield Avenue, said: "Traffic lights on the junction of Wistaston Green Road are the answer.
"You always get one lunatic coming down and the traffic lights would force them to stop.
"I know the road well, and turning out of that junction is dangerous - your view is blocked and if cars are coming down at 80mph you haven't got a chance.
"The cost of the traffic lights would be worth it because it would be saving lives."
Brian Stanfield, of Winterley, said: "I think there is so much red tape with this county council and we want to be getting rid of them.
"How many more people have to die before they do anything?"
Len Webb, of Aldersey Road, added: "There should be a 40mph limit all the way down the road, 30mph through built-up areas and a 20mph speed limit either side of the Wistaston Green Road junction.
"Those measures would help a lot.
"I use the road often and sometimes you're petrified with the speed of the traffic there."
