A NOTORIOUS conman understood to owe Warrington Wolves more than £1,000 has been jailed.

Invoices seen by the Warrington Guardian reveal the club was deceived by Colin Moore.

The Wolves were chasing him for payment earlier this year after he held events at the stadium.

He had a corporate hospitality package last autumn worth £881 for a home match against St Helens.

And he had a Table of Ten worth £470 at the end of season dinner dance 2004 a few days later.

They were both in the name of Happy Days Leisure, a business Moore was operating from a pub in Bootle, Liverpool.

It is understood no payment was made for the £470 dinner dance.

A cheque was received for the £881 corporate hospitality package but Moore is infamous for writing cheques in the name of companies that have no money.

He has already been jailed twice before for financial dishonesty.

Moore admitted eight offences at Warrington Crown Court last week involving around £15,000.

The 45-year-old from Runcorn was jailed for two-and-a-half years last week for ripping off printers with a dishonest publishing business.

He also obtained services by forging cheques from his elderly parents, or writing them out in the name companies that he knew did not have any funds.

Julie Cleave, the Wolves commercial manager, said: "I'm not making any comment."
