WHO do you turn to when a loved one commits suicide?
Support from other people with a similar experience is on offer from Lymm-based group and telephone help line - SOBS - Survivors of Bereaved By Suicide.
Liz McKean, of Cawthorne Avenue, Grappenhall, who lost her 31-year-old son Jon five years ago, describes SOBS as a source of strength that has helped her cope with his death.
Mrs McKean said: "You need a lot of support after suicide and for a long time afterwards, much longer than for any other death I've experienced.
"You have a lot of very strong emotions, maybe even wanting to end your own life.
"Friends, as supportive as they can be, can't feel your pain.
"SOBS offers a safe and comfortable place, with people from all walks of life and this helps you to put your life into perspective.
"Some of us go every month and, after a while along this journey, find we are talking about things like holidays, which doesn't seem possible at first.
"It's all part of getting back to living your life, even though it's a different life to before."
To contact SOBS, call 01270 652061 or the national helpline on 0870 241 3337.
