ALICE in Wonderland has been brought to life in the form of Warrington's Georgia Isherwood.
Eleven-year-old Georgia, from Teddington Close in Appleton, was chosen by the Lewis Carroll Society to represent the famous heroine throughout 2005/06.
She takes up office during the first week of October.
Her first engagement as Alice will be at a Victorian day in Warrington Library on Saturday, October 8.
She will introduce herself to the Lewis Carroll Society at a meeting on Saturday October 15 and carry a cheque to Chester Zoo at the end of the month to pay for the adoption of a white rabbit.
Georgia will be the 30th Alice to attend such engagements, and the second Alice in the Isherwood family.
Zoe Isherwood, Georgia's elder sister, was the Lewis Carroll Society's Alice in 2002/03. Georgia will now inherit the blue dress and begin attending events in and around Daresbury, the birthplace of Lewis Carroll.
Georgia, who attends Broomfields Junior School celebrated her 11th birthday last week and enjoys horse riding and playing the violin and piano. She has recently returned from a European cruise that took in Portugal, Gibraltar, Italy and Spain.
"Georgia's thrilled to bits," said her mum, Jean. "She knows what's involved and is really looking forward to taking on the role. It's a great opportunity for her."
