COUNCILLORS in Poulton north are hailing the recent Community Action Team walks a great success after they helped to highlight problems in the area.
Police joined councillors and residents in the area to carry out two CAT walks, one during the day and one in the evening, to identify any areas of criminal damage, graffiti, litter and vandalism.
Now that the walks are completed residents will be asked to take part in a survey to give them the chance to have a say in how their community is policed.
The walks were tailored to give police officers from the CAT team an insight into the issues affecting residents during the day and night.
Residents are being encouraged to get involved with policing their neighbourhoods and are being urged to attend a community action meeting, which will be held on Monday, October 17, at 6.30pm at the Fearnhead Cross Community Centre.
PC Sam Griffiths said: "This is your chance to have your say. Don't leave it up to other people to speak on your behalf."
Clr Mick Curran who took part in the walks said: "It is vital that residents attend this meeting. The only way we can solve problems is if we start working together."
