AN EXCITING new PE sport course has kicked off at a Runcorn school.
Halton High School is the first school in the borough to team up with Edexcel and the premier leagues to run a BTEC 1st in sport.
"It is a fantastic way to teach pupils about sport and the wider aspects," said head of PE, Chris Townson.
"Originally, GSCE PE has marked pupils based upon how talented they were practically, but this course identifies rewards pupils for far more aspects than just ability, thus engaging everyone."
Manchester United FC developed the course with a Manchester school to give their footballers more chance of succeeding in a career in sport, if they ever wished to quit the professional game.
