CRESTFALLEN captain Lee Briers thinks bad luck played a key part in Wolves' play-off loss to Hull.
Wingers Chris Bridge and Henry Fa'afili both had tries ruled out in the first half, and stand off Briers said: "Nothing went for us.
"We had those two tries disallowed at the beginning, and we just knew then that we had to keep digging, but nothing was going our way.
"But full credit to Hull, they took their chances magnificently and that's the defence you need to go and win Grand Finals.
"And I don't see why Hull can't win it if they play like that - their defence was absolutely superb."
There were occasions during the match when Wolves lost possession as they tried to do too much to force an opening, and the skipper believes the pressure-cooker nature of the play-offs may have affected the team.
"We made that many breaks and didn't finish them off," said Briers.
"Normally we would have just taken the tackle and gone again, but probably the occasion got to us.
"It was a really disappointing defeat, because we all had high hopes and we felt all along it was going to be our year."
