SATURDAY'S game was heartbreaking for the squad and there were a lot of sad guys in the dressing room afterwards.
The way we lost makes it hard to swallow - we really fancied our chances this year and thought we could really push for it, but it didn't happen.
Credit to Hull, they came to Warrington with a lot of purpose and turned us over.
The bounce of the ball seemed to go our way at Hull, but Saturday was the total opposite - everything Hull touched seemed to turn into gold.
After we won at the KC Stadium, I think Hull had that revenge mentality coming here and they used it to full effect.
And although we were pretty confident we just got outplayed on the night, as simple as that.
Obviously it was Natty Wood's last game and we would really have liked to have sent him out on a high but sometimes life doesn't work out that way.
The defeat has got to motivate us for next year though - we've got to take some sort of positive out of the game and that's the only one I can find.
We've got to harden up and get that killer instinct, which we probably didn't have and Hull did.
I think the season as a whole has been good and bad, although it's hard to assess it at the moment because of the disappointment.
I really thought we should have gone on and won the Grand Final but I guess that if you look a little deeper we've had a pretty good year.
We've finished fourth after 28 rounds and that's something that's never been done at Warrington in Super League.
The two recent wins against Leeds and Hull - playing with Joey - stood out for me as the games of the season, and they will stay with me for a long time.
We've had a lot of sell-out crowds too, which is a real boost for the area, and credit has got to go to the fans, who have really stuck by us this year and got behind us.
It's probably been one of my better years as well but although it's been pretty decent I'll still go into next year looking to improve - that's the way I am.
And although there's been a lot of success, at the moment obviously the disappointment is outweighing it.
But life goes on, and we'll regroup in November and put our heads on next year - that's all we can do.
And the new signings we've got coming in should definitely help.
The guys that have come in this year - Logan, Toa, Gleese and Bridgey - have made a massive difference and I'm sure next year will be no different. We're always looking to improve.
I'm a big fan of Stuart Reardon, and I think he's a great signing and it's a credit to Paul Cullen and Simon Moran that we've got him here.
Obviously he's got a lot of potential and he'll go really well in our back line, but nothing's been said at this stage about where we will both play as I know he can play at full back too.
When it comes to it we'll discuss it in the off season, but I'm sure Stuart's the same as me - we'll both be happy to play wherever we're put.
Richie Barnett's a really exciting player too, and we played against him at the KC Stadium and he showed what he can do.
He probably hasn't played as much as he would have liked this year, but in my opinion he's as good as either of the two wingers Hull had out there on Saturday, so it's exciting that he's coming here next year as well.
I'm going back to Australia for a bit now and there's a big day coming up at the end of October when I get married to my fiance Kylie, so it's not all doom and gloom. I'll be back as early as I can and focusing on the pre-season.
