WOLVES' development as a team unit during 2005 has been reflected by the Warrington Guardian's top man ratings.
Marks were given out to the top three performers during each game this year, and only three points separated the top six contenders.
Lee Briers, Jon Clarke, Ben Westwood and Chris Bridge forced their way into the reckoning but the final result saw first place shared between Brent Grose and Mark Gleeson, who both picked up 18 points (see season's stats on page 78).
Grose, who has lifted the club and supporters' player of the year awards, has developed into one of Super League's best full backs despite this being his first year in the position.
The Australian has proved to be reliable and dangerous from a central position and has said he would gladly play full back for the rest of his career.
Mark Gleeson has been an unsung hero and his effectiveness as an impact hooker has grown. He has regularly come off the bench to change a game, never more notably than in Wolves' win at Odsal in May. His performances throughout the year have been rewarded with a call-up to the England train-on squad.
