FIREFIGHTERS from Newton were called to a blaze which closed a number of roads in the early hours of Saturday.
The garage fire at a property in Collins Green left Collins Green Lane, Penketh Lane and Penny Lane shut for a number of hours along with a nearby railway line because of safety concerns.
Firefighters from Warrington and Newton attended the property on Collins Green Lane at 6am, where they found a number of cylinders containing acetylene.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said: "The cylinders have to be cooled down and left for 24 hours to ensure that they are safe.
"Fire crews had to tackle the blaze from safe areas."
