POLICE officers are carrying out investigations after a series of assaults took place in Middlewich during the weekend.
Officers are trying to piece together information after three separate attacks took place between Friday and Sunday.
The first assault, which Sgt Richard Line described as serious, took place in Lewin Street near to the Royal British Legion at 11pm on Friday when a teenage boy was attacked by a group of youths.
Sgt Line said: "It was an unprovoked attack on a 15-year-old boy who was walking along Lewin Street with a group of friends.
"He was pushed against a wall by two or three offenders of the same age, then to the ground where he was punched and kicked. He suffered injuries to his head and jaw."
Paramedics were called to the incident at 11.08pm but the boy was taken to Leighton Hospital by his father.
Half an hour later there was an altercation between two teenagers in Wheelock Street.
A 19-year-old man slapped a 17-year-old, causing injuries and reddening to his face.
The third incident took place at the Shell garage, in Holmes Chapel Road, at around 1.30am on Sunday, when a woman was pushed over in the forecourt and suffered minor injuries.
Sgt Line said officers would welcome information on any of the incidents.
He said: "Anyone who may have witnessed the first incident should ring Det Con Penny Jones on 01244 612776."
If you have information about the other assaults, ring Middlewich CAT team on 0845 458 6382 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
