LOSTOCK Gralam's dreadful away run continued at on Saturday with a 4-0 away defeat at Glossop North End.

A nightmare second half performance saw the Lambs return with nothing from their long road trip.

Manager Chris Peers was left tearing his hair out following the defeat and his players were left in no doubt of his feelings as they were kept in the changing room after the game for almost 30 minutes.

Lostock were on the ropes from the off as they struggled to string passes together and gifted Glossop possession.

Only a magnificent goal-line clearance from full-back Steve Carter kept Lostock on level terms.

But as the half wore on, Glossop continued to create the better chances, but found the Grey Lambs' defence difficult to break down with Martin Green outstanding in goal.

Lostock switched to 3-5-2 to try to take control in midfield and the tactical alteration had some effect as they closed out the half, finishing 0-0.

Handled

But within 30 seconds of the re-start, things started to go horribly wrong for Lostock.

Captain James Birdsey was adjudged to have handled in the box and Green was sent the wrong way from the spot.

The home side doubled their lead on 50 minutes as Lostock struggled to apply their new system.

And things went from bad to worse on 58 minutes as a carbon copy goal extended Glossop's' lead.

The Grey Lambs were rocked, but continued to battle. Yeadon was impressive in the midfield alongside the lively Ben Jones.

Livewire Lee Woodward was the main attacking threat yet again for Lostock, but he was limited to long shots which failed to trouble the home goalkeeper.

And they were made to pay on 68 minutes when Glossop added a fourth.

This time they managed to beat the Lostock off-side trap and with no defenders in sight, they were able to pass the ball around Green before slotting home.
