NORTHWICH rowers Leanne Ratcliffe and Sarah Patrick made competitors at Lincoln green with envy as they stormed to victory.
The pair, representing Northwich Rowing Club, travelled to Lincoln to compete in the Boston Rowing Marathon, a prestigious national event which is recognized as the longest rowing race in Great Britain - covering a distance of 31 miles.
This year there were more than 250 entries, ranging from eights to singles, and Ratcliffe and Patrick completed the course in four hours 36 minutes.
The time was just outside the WJ18 doubles record and the two 16-year-olds finished more than 14 minutes ahead of their nearest rivals, Queen Elizabeth High School, Hexham.
