CROSFIELDS made short work of their visit to Beechwood, winning 7-1 to progress to round two of the Guardian Cup.
Runcorn Albion proved too strong for Avon Athletic, winning by 4-2 in extra time. Runcorn Athletic progressed by the same winning margin over Village Social. The all-premier division showdown between Beeches and Downall Green United was won by the visitors, United 3-1 winners.
Fellow premier sides St Michael's and Halebank both progressed with 2-0 victories over lowlier opposition.
The Reg Oliver Trophy First Round produced some excellent fare too; Moore Reserves pushed Whiston 3rds all the way before running out of steam.
Monks Sports won 5-1 at St Michael's Reserves. Moorfield Reserves and St Michael's 3rds both hit four goals to mark their progress.

Rainhill Town had a runaway 5-0 victory over rock bottom Moorfield.
The Frontrunner premier division title chase is as tense as ever.
There was a major shock in the first division with title favourites Sidac Social ambushed by contenders Cronton Villa 3-0.
Ford Motors and Halton Borough shared four goals.
In the third division, Cronton Villa Reserves beat Newton le Willows 2-1.
And Vicars Reserves proved far too strong for Moorfield 3rds, in their division four match.
