Four empty shops are now available to let in Knutsford.

Princess Street has now lost Wares and Gray Travel and is due to lose Christal Tips when it moves to a new site next month.

And the closure of Travelbeam has left a gap in King Street.

But on Monday estate agents at Meller Braggins said there could be good news soon with businesses wanting to take over the Wares and Christal Tips sites.

"We can't say anything more at this stage," said a spokesman.

Wares closed at the weekend and Chris Littlewood is moving Christal Tips in with Innovations hairdressers and Hidden Beauty at the station end of King Street in October to cut costs.

Meanwhile, Gray Travel closed its office last month and is now operating from its shop in Northwich.

"We have had viewings but nobody wants to let it as yet," said a spokesman for Marshall's in Church Hill.

No one at Guthrie Partnership was available to comment this week on the tenancy of Travelbeam's former double-fronted shop in King Street.

The travel agency moved to a converted barn in Chelford earlier this month.

However, a new business is due to open in King Street at the former site of Thornley Groves.
