A NEW initiative is aiming to remove any mystery that surrounds police operations in Northwich as anti-crime operation boards come into play.
Insp Philip Hodgson, head of Western Rural Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU), said: "When people see officers at the roadside they often assume they are involved in speeding initiatives. The reality is in most cases we are carrying out crime detection.
"It's all about keeping the public informed and letting them know we are out there focusing on a whole range of issues.
"The signs will also help deliver the message to criminals that they have a good chance of being caught if they choose to commit crime there."
The signs will be used during drug raids and public disorder incidents.
