POLICE are appealing for relatives to come forward after a South Cheshire man and his wife were found dead at their home in rural Wales.
Mystery surrounds the deaths of 77-year-old Eric Corbett and his wife Audrey, aged 66, after their bodies were found at their home near Welshpool, on September 10.
A post-mortem examination by Home Office pathologists was unable to ascertain the cause of death, and Welshpool detectives are now awaiting the results of further toxicology reports and forensic tests carried out at the couple's property.
Mr and Mrs Corbett were a private couple and police have so far been unable to track down their relatives.
Officers believe Mr Corbett was originally from the Crewe and Nantwich area, and Dyfed-Powys police are appealing for any relatives to come forward.
A spokesman for the Mid-Wales force said: "We received a phone call on the morning of September 10 saying the couple could not be contacted.
"Officers went to their house to investigate and their bodies were discovered."
"We are appealing for any relatives, or anyone who knows their relatives, to contact us on 0845 3302000, or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111."
