Golborne Parkside 14

AN INEXPERIENCED Golborne Parkside let victory slip in the repeat fixture of last season's North West Counties Amateur Rugby League Cup Final.

Widnes took a 6-0 lead but Golborne replied with tries from Stuart Arkwright and man of the match Gareth Dickinson to lead by two points at half time.

Parkside's Mark Pilling added a goal, but the home side crossed with 15 minutes to go.

And an error allowed Widnes to take the lead with just five minutes left as Golborne fell to their first defeat of the season.

Parkside are at home to Leigh East on Saturday, kick-off 2pm, in the second round of the Tetley Lancashire Cup.
