BURTONWOOD'S pavilion garage has been bricked up and its damaged gutters repaired and cleaned after repeated acts of vandalism.
During the village's July parish meeting councillors decided that the action was needed to protect the community centre. Fascia boards were also given a coat of paint, the roller doors that were covered in graffiti have been painted over and the park entrance post has been realigned.
Eddie Coop, chairman of Burtonwood and Westbrook Parish Council, said: "We couldn't just leave the pavilion as it was because it was looking so grotty. It's the parents of these kids who are wrecking it that are ultimately having to pay for it to be cleaned up through their taxes."
