AN excellent defensive performance could not stop Culcheth being beaten. Danny Martin and Nick Woodward crossed for Eagles, for whom Mike Baines-McAvoy and Craig McCracken were impressive. Danny Stokes and Tom Gleave fared well in defence.

ERRORS cost Rylands as they were defeated at Ashton on Sunday.. Top tackler Tom Lee scored Sharks' only try, while Jack Reid landed one goal. Troy Allison was the player of the match while Kristian Charnock took the coaches' award.

CULCHETH were beaten in their first away match of the season despite being on level terms at half time. Eliot Wales, Sam Stretch, Andy Bourke and Mike Ratcliffe all crossed for Eagles, while Stuart Baker was the player of the match. Khane Price was the top tackler and Tomas Maden-Atkinson was the most improved player.

RYLANDS laid the foundations for a fine whitewash with an immense defensive effort. Player of the match Jordan Burke, who touched down once, inspired the team, with Paul Dolan, Lewis Pickering, Joe Clarke and Ste Ogden also crossing. Jamie Howard added two goals to his try.

A FULLY committed Latchford side were edged out by Chorley in a tight game. John Hewitt maintained his try per game record this season while Carl Evans also crossed and Jordan Stephenson goaled once. Adam Yates-Dutton topped the tackle count.

LYMM put up a spirited display to limit Sandbach to a respectable total. They only just failed to score a consolation try, with Jonathan Griffiths impressing with excellent tackling.
Crosfields Cobras u11 16
Culcheth Eagles u11 4
A SOLID defensive performance and some exciting attacking play helped Crosfields win. Joshua Wall, Will Maudsley, Mat Pritchard and player of the match Daniel Dowman all scored tries, while Jamie Greenhalgh was the most improved player.
