RYLANDS rallied to secure victory against Latchford despite throwing away an early lead.
Andy Brown, Andy Smith and Jonny Walker crossed for the home side in the opening 15 minutes to put them 16-0 ahead, but Latchford hit back with three tries of their own - Ryan Barnes grabbed a brace and John Willams scored once - to lead at half time.
Rylands dug deep though, with Tony Berry and Neil Evans both crossing to secure victory.
Rylands entertain Oldham St Annes in the second round of the Lancashire Cup at Gorsey Lane on Saturday, kick-off 2pm.

RYLANDS' A team paid for a poor 10-minute spell either side of half time as they were beaten at Golborne.
Mike Lee scored Rylands' consolation try and Jonathan Smith earned their man of the match award.

RYLANDS held off a late comeback to clinch victory at Golborne thanks to tries from Kyle Hillman, Jonathan Smith, Craig Rigby and Ryan Fieldhouse.
