LYMM were the victims of an upset as they lost at Wilmslow in the opening round of the NPI Cup. Huw Morris scored an unconverted try to put them in front, but the home side crossed before Chris Kinsey restored Lymm's lead. A penalty try then swayed the game Wilmslow's way to force Lymm out of the competition.

LYMM'S third team were too powerful for Fleetwood as they completed a convincing whitewash. Harris, Kevin and man of the match Martin O'Callaghan all crossed twice, with Walker, Minton, Grant and Tom also touching down.
* Lymm's second team lost 76-7 at Fylde's seconds, while the under 17s won 19-17 at home to Manchester.
