NANTWICH Town climbed to sixth in NWC Division One with a 5-0 victory at Abbey Hey on Tuesday night.
After a goalless first half, The Dabbers tore the home side apart.
Matt Blake struck instantly with Danny Griggs (pen), Marrow, Roberts and Grice completing the rout.
"It was an important match for us and three points takes us where we want to be with games in hand," explained boss Steve Davis.
"This gives us some confidence to take into the Hucknall game"
It was a great result for the Dabbers who built on their 1-0 victory over struggling Formby at Jackson Avenue, last Saturday.
Despite chances in abundance, it took until the 62nd minute for the deadlock to be broken.
Paul Taylor was brought down and Griggs stepped up to convert the resulting spot-kick.
"It was another win and it doesn't matter how it comes," added Davis.
"We dominated the game really without turning possession into goals.
"Formby fought hard and got everybody behind the ball.
"You're going to get that with them looking for only their second win.
"In the end we got what we deserved."
Nantwich now take an extended break from the league with the big FA Cup Second Qualifying Round clash at home to Hucknall Town on Saturday.
Davis is looking forward to seeing his side taking on the Conference North high-fliers.
"Clive (Jackson) watched them so we've got a report and we do the preparation," he said.
"The league's first and foremost but we're looking to get to the next round.
"We'll be the underdogs like we were against Gresley but if the lads can lift their performance again, we can come through."
Saturday week sees the Dabbers travel to Shropshire for an FA vase clash at Midland Football Combination side Shifnal Town.
"It's another game to catch up in the league but most teams will be involved," continued Davis.
"It's hard to get a true reflection of the league until all the games in hand even out.
"But the FA Cup is a great competition to be involved in and so is the Vase."
