POLICE are investigating a possible hit and run after a cyclist with a fractured skull was found on a pavement in Harpers Road, Longbarn.
The 37-year-old was taken to Warrington Hospital where his condition is described as comfortable.
The man was discovered at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, near the junction was Pasture Lane.
His bike was not thought to be damaged but police think a passer-by moved it for safe-keeping and they are appealing for information.
The road is fairly busy and several people are understood to have helped out at the scene. Police want them or any witnesses to the actual incident, to get in touch.
Anyone with information should contact Sgt Mikes Jones on 01244-613813.
