PARKING in Penketh was a hot topic yet again at last week's parish council meeting.
A member of the public said that not enough was being done about illegal parking around Honiton Way.
He also said that, contrary to the six-month deal done to let Matthiola FC use Greystone Rec, players were parking on Greystone Road rather than at nearby car parks.
Clr Linda Dirir assured him on the Matthiola parking, commenting: "This parish council will be monitoring the situation and we will be looking to see if there's any dangerous parking."
She also said the parish council would be making a bid for one of the council's dozen or so new traffic wardens to cover Penketh when they are introduced.
And Penketh's beat bobby PC Mike Parr said he alone had issued six to 10 parking tickets in Honiton Way in the past two weeks.
The meeting also heard that Penketh's Community Support Officer would soon have the power to issue tickets.
