PENKETH Parish Council has passed a motion in support of the Communities Bill that is being pushed through Parliament.
The bill is aimed at halting the closure of local banks, post offices, newsagents, doctor's surgeries and other community amenities.
Parish councillor George Warburton commented: "Supermarkets are taking over and putting little shops out of business."
