TWO summer workshop meetings were held and the members continued to work at their group videos. One of the videos will be put forward for the north versus south competition.

August 15 was a members' movie evening and included in the programme were: A lot of old bull by Harry Larkin, After the wedding by Bill Johnson, Four in Sussex by David Cooper, A lot of hot air by Geoff Welch and A musical odyssey by Reg Dixon. We also held the premiere of the WCVS video Medieval Warrington edited by Rob Evans. This was a video made from recent events celebrating the 750th anniversary of Warrington Market.

On September 5, Olga Larkin presented a very enjoyable programme of her films, including: Appleby Horse Fair, Disney magic, The Swannery at Abbotsbury, Gateshead Garden Festival, A dream fulfilled, - a visit to Portmeirion, All our yesterdays, - a steam rally at Harewood House, A visit to Bruges, Little Moreton Hall and Biddulph Gardens and two films about the Tall Ships at Liverpool in 1984 and 1992.

September 12 was a production report evening. The summer workshop videos were watched and assessed, also a past member, Roy Jackson, now living in Scotland, came to visit us. It was also decided that the society should enter a comedy video: An act too far for the Rhyl Cup Club competition. The competition is an annual event put on by the IAC North West Region and held at Cheadle Hulme on November 12.

September 19 is a Casablanca video editing system demonstration, September 26 is another members' movie evening and on October 3 there is a society competition for the Niklaus and Walter Last trophies.

Meetings take place on Mondays at 8pm at the Silver Band Hall, Loushers Lane.
