A COUPLE celebrated their ruby anniversary by tracing their honeymoon steps back to the Lake District.
Colin and Margaret Evans, from Crow Lane in Newton, drove to the national park in Jemima, their Beatrix Potter-inspired, vintage Austin Seven.
Exactly as they had set off 40 years ago as newlyweds the pair took to the road on the way to Edinburgh, stopping at The World of Beatrix Potter attraction in Bowness-on-Windermere.
Colin bought the 72-year-old car for £8 in 1962, naming her Jemima because his sisters were training to be nursery nurses at the time and had lots of the author's books around.
Mr Evans, aged 65, said: "It's a family tradition that we have always called our cars names and Jemima has been with us a long time.
"We had a lovely time with her reliving our honeymoon and we had a great time at the museum when we stayed at the Lowood Hotel in Windemere.
"I think Beatrix Potter's stories are beautiful and the illustrations are wonderful."
The couple's collection also includes a 1932 Morris Minor, Henrietta and they have previously had a Riley March Special, Mrs Tiggywinkle, an Austin Ten, Benjamin Bunny and Colin currently drives a red van called Mrs Goggins.
