GREEN fingered David Peterken has grown a magnificent sunflower plant that would make Alan Titchmarsh envious.
The seven-year-old from Thorn Tree Green, Appleton, started growing the plant from a seedling in June.
He has spent all summer watering his plant, which has grown to a very lengthy 8.5ft.
David, who attends Long Lane Primary School, has also turned his gifted hands towards growing vegetables.
David's mum, Charlotte, said: "David started growing a courgette that was a tiny thing.
"However, when we came back from holiday it had grown so large it looked like a marrow".
