TWO parish councillors for the Whitefield Ward of Stockton Heath have resigned.

Patrick Mullee, of Cawdor Street and Olive Stephens, of Cambridge Close, both stood down from their positions last week.

Mrs Stephens cited personal commitments and non-renewal of her membership as a Liberal Democrat candidate, as reasons for tending her notice.

While Mr Mullee, who has been actively involved with the street scene campaign, Ackers Pit and the campaign to save Stockton heath Primary School said the failure of the latter as a main factor.

Stockton heath Parish Council thanked both individuals for their work as councillors, which comes a month after deputy chairman Dorothy Robb also stood down from her seat due to ill health.

This leaves three vacant positions on the same ward in the parish council.
