BUILDING work is set to start on a multi-million-pound 'supercentre' in Winsford which will replace the town's overflowing doctors' surgeries.
Plans for the £5million Winsford Health Park are well under way and health bosses are delighted with the progress being made on the project.
Nicola Morgan, from Central Cheshire Primary Care Trust (CCPCT), said: "We are all ready to go with this and hope to start building the centre in the next few months.
"It is going to be a fantastic facility and I believe it is the best build we are involved with at the moment."
The health centre, which will be built on land off Dene Drive, will incorporate all of the town's doctors' surgeries under one roof and mean people will no longer have to travel to Leighton Hospital for services such as minor operations, blood tests and physiotherapy.
Building work will take 12 months and it is hoped the supercentre will be open in December next year. Nicola Morgan said: "Everybody seems happy when we have talked to the public about this and we are delighted it is going so well.
"The GPs have been involved in this from the start and it is really their project. There is still a lot of work to do and they are still very much involved in that process.
"We are all looking forward to it opening because it really is going to be a tremendous facility."
