A MUM has been made the subject of an ASBO, just over a year after her daughter received one - the first time this has happened in Halton.

Mum Tracey Ireland, 33, wreaked havoc in her former Weston Point neighbourhood, with booze-fuelled behaviour against fearful residents of Beaconsfield Road.

Speaking after magistrates gave mum Ireland a two-year Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO), to join daughter Joanne (half-way through a three-year one), ASBO liaison officer PC Neil Burdekin, said: "It will be nice for the residents to finally have some peace at last.

"This is the first time in Halton that two members of the same family have been subject to ASBOs that apply throughout England and Wales.

"A lot of hard work has gone in from residents in helping the police and local council dealing with the Ireland's behaviour.

"We are very grateful they stood up against this sort of thing - it shows that ASBOs will be used to get these people to amend their anti-social behaviour."

Ireland received her ASBO last week after admitting threatening behaviour and being drunk and disorderly.

She denied criminal damage but was found guilty by magistrates.

The mum-of-five, who now lives in Stoke, has been banned from entering Beaconsfield Road, where she used to live before being evicted by Halton Council in October last year.

She is also banned from causing harassment, alarm or distress to any person in the whole of England and Wales, approaching any witness in the court case, and from consuming or being under the influence of alcohol in public.

If she breaks any condition, Ireland, who also received a two-year conditional discharge, will be arrested by police and could be jailed for up to five years.

Daughter Joanne received her ASBO in May last year after magistrates heard how she had terrorised neighbours since the age of seven by drinking and urinating in the street, swearing at passers-by and playing loud music late at night.

It lasts until July 17, 2007 - the day before her 18th birthday.

At the same time mum Ireland had received a parenting order but police say she did not comply with it.
